With the exhibition "«Zeit und Raum - Hommage an Peter und Christine Kamm» at Kunsthaus Zug," the Kunsthaus Zug pays tribute to the multifaceted work of the Zug couple Christine and Peter Kamm. The diverse accompanying program also invites visitors to follow the Kamms' footsteps in Zug and in the Glarus Klöntal to Richisau. The Kunsthaus Zug showcases around 200 works from their extensive and varied private collection for the first time, which was an integral part of their lives in their apartment.
The exhibition "Zeit und Raum" revolves around the work of the deceased couple Peter Kamm (1935 – 2008) and Christine Kamm (1949 – 2019), focusing on the relationship between past, present, and future. The exhibition features works by various artists such as Balthasar Burkhard, Bethan Huws, Roni Horn, Richard Long, Brigitte Kowanz, and more, offering a nuanced cultural engagement that intertwines history with the present and the region with the world.
Christine and Peter Kamm connected their collection activities with cultural engagement in heritage conservation, monument preservation, landscape protection, architecture, and urban planning, showcasing their holistic view of tradition and innovation, nature, and urbanity. The exhibition serves as a homage to their professional work and exemplary dedication to culture, time, and space.
The accompanying program reflects the versatility of Christine and Peter Kamm, offering a city tour tracing the couple's historical buildings and natural sites of significance, as well as an art trip to the Richisau inn in the Glarus Klöntal. The Kunsthaus Zug expresses its gratitude to Peter Kamm and Dr. Christine Kamm-Kyburz, curators of the exhibition, for their contributions to the Zug art society.
