Up the Stairs is a collective exhibition featuring works from the collection of the Fonds cantonal d’art contemporain. Mohamed Almusibli and Alicia Reymond, winners of the Grant for Curatorial Exhibition 2021, present a selection of works that elaborate on representation mechanisms problematizing the equation between spaces, bodies, and imaginaries. These works transport us into complex universes where various forms of projection overlap with memories of lived and internalized situations. They reflect the impact that physical spaces and architectures have on the bodies and imaginaries that traverse them.
Mediation Program
The mediation program of Up the Stairs aims to invite individuals from diverse backgrounds to look at this exhibition and the collection of the FCAC, the art collection of the canton of Geneva, from which this exhibition has been developed.
Performance Schedule
Various artists will be presenting performances as part of Up the Stairs, exploring themes such as the curative aspect of dance, the sensory experience of navigation within exhibition spaces, and the spatialization of text through sound installations.
Workshops and Guided Tours
Workshops and guided tours will be conducted by artists, architects, and curators involved in the exhibition, offering insights into their creative processes and perspectives on the themes explored in Up the Stairs.
The exhibition will conclude with a weekend of closure and guided tours led by the two curators, Mohamed Almusibli and Alicia Reymond.
