The exhibition "Tracks and Traces" at Kunsthaus Langenthal brings together recent works by four artists from German-speaking Switzerland and the Romandie, Switzerland's French-speaking region. Each artist works with painterly processes where the dimensions and movements of the body play a significant role. The artists have distinct approaches to displaying their works in the exhibition space, whether through hanging or incorporating the walls.

Izidora | LETHE created expansive new works for the exhibition that focus on mixing and blurring boundaries, using a collaborative approach to create a mural that represents individual bodies coming together. The series DELUGE by LETHE explores the depiction of water, inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's drawings, reflecting on the undepictable nature of water.

Thomas Hauri's work primarily involves watercolor techniques, where water is both a material and a tool. Hauri's experimental processes involve controlling and influencing the flow of water over large sheets of paper, creating non-representational images that suggest physical, organic, and spatial elements.

Christelle Kahla uses symbolic objects like clothing and jewelry as stencils for images sprayed with airbrush, evoking themes of desire, power, and adornment. Kahla's works explore fragmentation while bringing bodies to life through her artistic expressions.

Anastasia Pavlou's paintings reflect a practice focused on process, the unexpected, and chance. Her works explore questions of time, materiality, and physical gesture, with a visual language that incorporates both expressive and figurative elements. Pavlou's use of analogue photography complements her painting practice, offering a conceptual play with transformation within her work.

The exhibition is curated by Raffael Dörig, Director of Kunsthaus Langenthal, and Marius Quiblier, assistant curator, bringing together a diverse range of artistic practices and themes that invite viewers to engage with the complexities of contemporary art.
