Under My Skin is an exhibition that delves into the concept of skin as the body's largest organ and the boundary between the self and the external world. The show features works by Martín Soto Climént, Una Szeemann, and Hannah Villiger, each exploring different aspects of the skin.

Hannah Villiger's photographs capture the intimate planes of her own flesh, creating images that blur the line between the physical and metaphysical. Her works, displayed as modular totems, invite viewers to experience a bodily proximity that is both sensual and raw, documenting her exploration of her own body towards the end of her life.

Martín Soto Climént's pieces challenge the viewer's perception of nakedness and the idealized nude, presenting fetishistic aesthetics in a minimalist and provocative manner. His works draw attention to the societal obsession with skin tautness and perfection, offering a distorted yet graceful interpretation of the skin.

Una Szeemann's sculptures take us beneath the skin, giving form to the subcutaneous layers. Her bed-shaped sheets of copper evoke a sense of transformation and ghostly presence, hinting at the skin's ability to hold traces of sensation and memory. The sculptures invite contemplation on the animated nature of our bodies and the rituals of mummification that have honored the skin throughout history.

Leila Peacock's text accompanying the exhibition provides a thoughtful reflection on the significance of skin in our perception of self and others, highlighting the skin's role as a record of experiences and a boundary between the internal and external worlds.
