Exhibition Overview

Following the success of Jardins Défiants (Defiant Gardens), Halle Nord opens its autumn programme with a trio of exhibitions bringing together new works in painting, sculpture, and video. For his first institutional solo exhibition in Switzerland, Chris Lovasoa Kauffmann explores the hierarchies of artistic knowledge, focusing on the relationship between academically sanctioned discourse and vernacular aesthetics. Kauffmann's multi-channel video shot inside an escape room inspired by Pompeii serves as the backdrop for a narrative that questions the present's near-instant obsolescence. Through precise codes and performative gestures, the artist interrogates systems of classification in digital media, examining exclusion and homogenization.

Manuela Morales Délano - L’Argent Comme Seul Lien

Inspired by the luxury jewellers' displays in the neighborhood, Morales Délano's installation, L’Argent Comme Seul Lien (The only Thing that Connects us is Money), features a tiara made from anti-pigeon spikes. The work reflects on contemporary structures of power and privilege, echoing a feudal order where wealth remains concentrated.

Nina Wolf - CORRENTES

CORRENTES (currents*) is a video filmed along the Rhône in Geneva, serving as a letter to a lost friend. The fluid sequence of images creates a dreamlike journey, blending personal memory with collective imaginaries.

Thilda Bourqui - 1000 mg Capsule Collection

Thilda Bourqui's performative fashion show, inspired by science fiction and the medical world, showcases a series of outfits designed over the past two years. Bourqui's work explores consumption, contamination, and excess, combining digital collage with physical elements to construct stylized environments.

Winter Performance Festival

Halle Nord and Bongo Joe Records collaborate for a winter performance festival featuring musicians and performers from Geneva. The event highlights cultural practices at the intersection of visual and sound arts, offering new short sound pieces created for the occasion.
