Exhibition Overview
A series of exhibitions at Kunstmuseum Luzern in collaboration with the akku Kunstplattform celebrates the 140th anniversary of the art academy Hochschule Luzern – Design & Kunst (HSLU D&K). The exhibition series, titled "Fortsetzung folgt," focuses on former students of the academy, showcasing current works by about 20 artists.Barbara Davi's Solo Exhibition
Barbara Davi presents a solo exhibition titled "Train of Thought" as part of the series. The exhibition features new works, including four large sculptures made of bent sheets of aluminum that interact with the exhibition space. Davi's works explore formal and technical aspects through positive-negative forms, light and shade play, and proportions. She incorporates space and light deliberately in her installations, engaging with the exhibition rooms and creating a dialogue with the surroundings.Artistic Concept
In "Train of Thought," Davi creates poetic spatial constructs that alter perspective and highlight the presence of the new. Whether real or imaginary, sketched or constructed space, the artist invites visitors to navigate through these spaces in their thoughts, following a 'train of thought' around corners. Through her works, Davi explores the basic elements of sculptural work – space, void, and light – across different mediums.Upcoming Events
The exhibition will feature a performance by Brigitte Dätwyler, known for her work with minor shifts in everyday moments. A group exhibition with works by Anton Egloff, Filib Schürmann, and Katharina Anna Wieser, along with a performance by Christoph Rütimann, will conclude the series. Additionally, a book with texts by Nadine Olonetzky and Eveline Suter will be published to coincide with Barbara Davi's exhibition.
